Has your air conditioner’s thermostat ever gone blank? This is frustrating! It feels like there’s nothing you can do.

When you’re in this situation, start here:

1: Check batteries— Not all air conditioner thermostats run on batteries, but some do. Check if your thermostat has batteries…if it does, change them and that might fix the AC problem.

2: Check to see if the air conditioner circuit breaker is tripped— If the thermostat doesn’t have batteries, then it runs on power from the unit. If the AC circuit breaker is tripped, reset it. If it trips again, do not try to reset.

These are two of the more obvious issues with thermostats. Other common issues could be a blown fuse, a bad transformer, low voltage wire issue, etc. Start at the above steps, though…it could help save you an AC repair unnecessary call. If they don’t solve your AC issue, give us a call and we’ll get you cooling again.
